Cracked Rolled Buttercream

I know I can count on all the experts on this site for help - I tried making rolled buttercream icing on the weekend and it actually turned out pretty good. The only problem I had with is was that it cracked. Now fortunately it was plyable enough to patch - but I'm wondering if there was something I had done wrong with the recipe - maybe I hadn't added enough icing sugar - any suggestions would be very welcome since I'm making another cake tomorrow. icon_biggrin.gif thanks so much!
