Does anyone have a good chart that they go by on how much cake batter to use on different size pans? Does anyone use boxed cake mix? would also love to have a chart on that.

Box mixes make different amounts of batter, depending on the mix.
I use The Wilton yearbook for amounts of batter, there might be something on the website. And yes I use box mixes (if you do a search you will find quite a few lively discussions on boxed mix versus scratch mixes).
