Out of curiousity, I tried IMBC today. Everything looked perfect up until when I added my butter. I let the eggwhite mixture beat for 10 minutes, but I think I still didn't let it cool enough before adding the butter. And now it looks like melted icecream
Is there any way I can recover it? Or does its fate go down the drain
At first I thought I'd whip up normal buttercream and maybe combine the 2 so I could get a firmer consistency. But now I'm not too sure, thought I'd ask for advice first.
Oh by the way, it tasted gorgeous! If I can get to work this, I'm a convert!
Turn the mixer on and walk away. Come back in 20 minutes.

I had actually made it about 2 hours ago. And coz I was disheartened by it, I left it and hadn't looked until I read your reply. Its gone a bit thicker now, but still not stiff enough. Should I still put it back to beat for 20 mins? (fingers crossed)
I straight away ran to beat it up again. But its now turned to milk! lol! I've stuck it in the fridge, see if that makes any difference.
