How Do I Get A Deep Red?

How do I get a nice deep red in BC without using 3 bottles of colour?... Airbrush is not an option...as I don't have one! Does starting with a pink help?

I always have to use about 1/4 bottle of each of these Wilton colors: Christmas Red, Red Red and No Taste Red.

yes, start out with pink or a little cocoa or both, then add the red

I purchased a HUGE bottle of Bakery Crafts Super Red (I think it's 13.5oz). Stuff works GREAT! No more "strange pink/red" icing...

Forgot to add: make it at least one day ahead... the color will deepen as it sits.
