In the Nick Lodge's gumpaste I forgot the crisco! icon_eek.gif the only crisco I used was on my hands. Is this going to screw it up or should I take it out of the fridge and work some in. Its been about an hour in the fridge!

Thanks for the help!!

I'm not familiar with this recipe, but I say give it a try. If it doesn't work, you're no worse off than you are now. My gumpaste recipe doesn't have any actual shortening in the recipe. It's kneaded in as needed to soften, so there's a chance this will work this way too.

I hope so. Since crisco breaks down the gumpaste I hope that not enough will be ok and I'll kneed it in when I work with it. Crossing my fingers!! Thanks for your reply.

PS. It only called for 4 tsp. of crisco.

I think you're ok....as I recall, that shortnening is primarily associated with the kneading it needs....pull it out of the 'fridge, and work on it now! thumbs_up.gif

agree! I only put it on my hands, never add it when making the paste

Same here, I've only used it to aid in the kneading process.

It should be perfectly fine! thumbs_up.gif
