Making A 6" And 8"

I have never made a stack cake before, my question is how many layers do each section need... Some of the cakes on here look really tall.

Standard heights for these would be around 4" tall per tier. Mine are two-layers for each tier and I do not torte, but lots of people do. That is totally up to you.

Torting is when you split one layer into two and put filling or icing between the layers like a sandwich. Then you would have 4 layers of cake per tier. Does that make sense? I'm really not good at explanations.

I also don't torte and each tier is 4" tall (two 2" layers with filling in between). Good luck! There are some great videos on YouTube about stacking cakes if you haven't checked them out yet.
