Just got an order today for a german chocolate cake... I'm not really familiar with it, so I need some help. Does anyone have a good (moist) recipe? And this may be dumb, but is there any way to modify a chocolate cake mix to make german chocolate cake? Thanks!!
I always use the recipe that is on the inside of the Baker's German Sweet Chocolate package. It is moist and delicious and the frosting is to die for. I'm sure there are modified mix recipes that are good, but I have something that works so I've stuck with it.
I use hersheys old fashioned choc cake recipe and then I use a fresh german chocolate frsoting recipe from allrecipes (cant remember which one off hand and the recipe is not near me, I think it might be II). Fabulous!
Thanks I was looking on allrecipes already so I appreciate the recommendation for that particular frosting!
Here is the Baker's recipe ...
