I know it's been a while since anyone has posted on this but I was just reading the forum and thought of this name and slogan....
"Cake Walk"
Take a trip down Confectionery Lane.
My business name is Simply Cakes 'n' More...Dessert with personality! I've never been truly sold on it, but it's gotten a little attention!
My business name is Cakewalk (actually, Cakewalk Custom Cakes)! I get a lot of positive feedback about the name. People love it.
I am also trying to come up with a cake business name. My last name is cook and would like to incorperate it into the name if possible.
A friend told me to use
Cookies Cakes N Bakes
When you come up with something you like, Google it. Will it get lost in a sea of other cake and sweet shops?? Does it bring up porn sites??
I think this stuff is important in this day and age. Something catchy, not too mainstream, but won't leave the average person wondering what in the world your business is. That's a tall order, I know! But don't settle for anything you don't love.
Yep - same here! If you type in my WHOLE name, its all good - Sugar Mommas Custom Cakery. But type in just Sugar Momma's and watch out!
Happy Endings (as in the end of the meal)
LOLOL, then put your bake shop right next to the hot-chicka-latte stand.
I almost used "The Frosted Flour" before I went with mine which is now Sweetpeas Bakery. Sweetpeas are one of my favorite flowers and I think the name just has a sweet/country/small town feel to it. We used to have a small store on the town common called "Sweet Pea's" too so it's a 'town' thing.
Mine is a play on my name: Beggin for Cake (my last name is Begg) a friend came up with it. So ask around and see if you can get good suggestions from friends that have eaten your cakes.
Also, try to make it something unique. You want you business to be different from the rest.
I think "Not Walmart Cakes" would be great! (just kidding)
Stephanie
I, too, am struggling for a new name to bake wedding cakes under. in the distant past I sold cakes under "southern secrets", as I used recipes that were generations old, & 'secret'. now that doesn't seem current, or appropriate. I really need input, and would appreciate any advice given. I live in the deep south & am looking for a "southern touch", to my name, if possible. thanks all!
