Ok maybe I havent beaten long enough but its just a bunch of little beads! Itseems quite dry I did put in the 6 TBSP of water do I just need to keep beating or did I screw something up?????

sounds to me like you need more liquid. add more at a teaspoon at a time until you can see it coming together. i mix my ri for about 15 mins on slow speed when all the water is incorpeerated it looks glossy and the tip of a peak will flop over ,keep mixing for stiff peak. it is a fine line between soft and stiff peak and it will take some getting used to spotting when enough water has been added but if you do add too much just add more sugar a tablespoon at a time to stiffen it up.

My royal icing always turns out like a gooey mess. I'll try beating it longer.
