I bought and used for the first time Satin Ice Fondant. Once I added color, rolled out and applied it to the cake it look horrible. It looked like elephant skin. I attempted to make a coca cola can for my mom's birthday and it looked horrible, but tasted great!! I don't have pictures, as my computer will not let me upload any (probably because it's too old). I've used homemade fondant before and had no problems working with that, what did I do wrong? I think my support system was wrong also as the fondant made the cake compress. Did I mention I'm a newbie, but I'm addicted to this site and cake decorating and would love any advice!! Thank you so much!!!

Hi, when you add colour to white fondant, it tend to do that. That is what I have experienced. So best thing is to buy already coloured fondant. icon_smile.gif

Thanks! I'm doing a cake for my son's birthday in a couple of weeks and I will see if that works.
