Hi,

I am confused as to which thickness of boards I need.

I am making a 3 tier maderia cake, 10", 8" and a 6", obviously I have a drum for the 10" but for the others do I go for a 2mm board or 4mm?

Just want to get it right.
Thanks!

Hi!
I'm not exactly sure how much 2 mm and 4 mm are but I think 4 mm would be more adequate. I used to use cardboard boards, but I know use foam boards. They are much sturdier and I can fin big sheets of them at the local Dollar Store. They are about 1/4 of an inch and strong. I double them up for 12 in cakes, and for bigger cakes as main support I use 3.

GOod luck!
