I always use a normal layer of full bodied icing and a thin layer of white chocolate fondant.

Try out Jennifer's semi homemade recipe. I've heard great reviews about it.
I just use a thin crumbocoat on my cake and thats about it. I make sure the sides are straight and then cover my cake with fondant.

I always frost my cakes normal with BC and then cover with fondant. I have found that alot of ppl just peel the fondant off.
