Can I use piping gel to stick the pieces on? they are dry.. I don't have any royal made and this cake is traveling an hour and a half....
OH and I have to leave with it in two hours!!!!
If you have gumpaste make some gumpaste gunge. Add water until you get a thick sticky goo. You can add some gum trag or tylose for extra strength if you have it.
Piping gel I am not sure.
piping gel isn't the best idea, that doesn't really dry and might slide.
On second thoughts royal would be better. Can't you just mix in a mug a tinybit of egg white with some powdered sugar. It would take you about 2 mins and you will know it will hold strong.
Beat it in a mug with a metal spoon like mad for a minute or so. Make it nice and thick.
I use buttercream icing to glue mine to fondant you could even try melted white choc. aIf you use bc be sure to take a little with you in case any do fall off.
I have just been attaching mine to the fondant with a little water brushed on...as long as the decals were fairly small and light, that has always worked. Maybe I've been doing it wrong then? I just started with cakes and that seemed like an easy way to do it for me.
