I did a fondant bow on top of buttercream icing cake, and the bow changed color after a few hours, it was mmf made at home, do I need to add something extra? to make the color stay?

Do you have an airbrush? you could spray it....

What did you use to color the fondant? I can't think of anything that would change color unless it got darker.

What color was it? Anything with red dye in it (pink, red, purple, fuchsia, etc.) will fade from light. The red fades out.

beachcakes, would it fade in a few hours time? I'm hoping to start using fondant, so I would like to bypass as many "oops" as I can. icon_smile.gif

Well...I usually make my fondant a couple of days in advance, as the color does tend to "ripen," as I call it. It gets darker/more vibrant. I'm not sure why, but it does seem to do so. So if you made it and then immediately used it, it could have nothing to do with the buttercream, and just be due to "ripening" color.
