How To Flavor Buttercream

hello...just want to ask...if i want to flavor my buttercream do i just add the flavoring i want?? like for example..do i just add a tsp of lemon to make lemon flavored buttercream?? thanks so much in advance icon_smile.gif

Yup, it really is just that simple. I don't go by measurements when trying new flavors, because some flavors will require more and others only need a tiny bit. Experiment and play around with things. Don't just stick to extracts and oils either. You can use jams/preserves, fruit curds, fruit purees, nut pastes, flavoring compounds... the sky is the limit! Just add a little at a time until you get the flavor you like (but keep track of how much you add so that next time you want to make it you'll know how much you need).

Ive used instant coffee as the liquid in my chocolate buttercream, really good!
