Hello all...a friend asked me to do her wedding cake, and it is a Hawaiian theme...Anyone have a list of non-toxic flowers that will work on a cake? I know there are some no-no's out there...and some that are ok - the list I have does not have orchids on there...TIA!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Keep in mind that even though the flower is safe, what the grower did to it may not be.

I cut a waxpaper circle to place the flower on so the cake and the flower don't come in contact. If it is a bunch of flowers I use a cardboard circle cut to fit and arrange them on top and then just lift it off to cut.

I have seen a florist stick the dippy stems straight into the cake before.

Good tips...only 1 question: what do you mean by 'dippy stems?' icon_confused.gif

I think any flower is ok...as long as you keep a barrier between the flower and the cake. You don't want flowers weeping... on the cake. Or, NEVER stick flower stems into the cake. Never... bare stems..
