I am starting to work with Fondant and I have a question to anyone who might know. I am not a big fan of buttercream icing and I would prefer NOT to use it as a base under teh Fondant. Is there any other icing/cream that would work well under Fondant? I have heard ganach. Anything else, not chocolaty? I know whipping cream would not work becaue of moisture...
Any suggestions would be really really appreciated.

What about thinned apricot or other flavored jam? Warm it up, spread it on thinly and put the fondant over top.
