Jennifermi makes a semi homemade chocolate fondant that is good and michele foster has a good fondant recipe on this site. Most commercial brands have a chemical taste however, chocopan is the best tasting ready made I have found but it is expensive.

If you do a search on this site in the forums, you'll see that a lot of people have asked this question and you'll get lots of opinions in those threads. That may give you a quicker and more comprehensive answer to your question.

I use Satin Ice. I love the flavor, which I think tastes a lot like marshmallows. It's expensive and that pains me (the shipping is what really kills me), but it's what I use. I hear so many catastrophes with homemade fondant that doesn't dependably turn out well that I don't even want to try making it. Besides, it's pretty hard on your mixer because it's so stiff, and I don't want to risk burning out my KitchenAid.

I'm not hijacking - just a short detour. Has anyone ever made JenniferMI's chocolate fondant using MFF (Michele Foster's Fondant)? I need some for Monday, want to use something that will taste good, don't have enough Pettinice or time to get more shipped to me ...

Thanks,
Martha

i've tried MFF and liked the taste but to me it's faster, easier, and cheaper to make MMF, got the same results, plus it tastes good as well. i don't typically use my KA mixer when i make it because i see no need, HTH. continue on with the hijacking... er i mean detour lol icon_biggrin.gif

Martha, I have made the white chocolate with the mmf and works great. I love the taste. I make my mmf one evening the next evening mix the chocolate in it. It is hard to get incorporated at first. I mix as best as I can then let it sit till the next day when everything is cool and it mixes together great. It is the only thing I will use for wedding cakes.

Michele Foster updated her recipe to include chocolate. It should be in the recipe section.
