I am making my a baby shower cake and want to use buttons-so I was wandering if anyone could tell me how to make them out of fondant. Is there an actual method? Thanks!!

This is the instructions in my wilton book...(celebrate with fondant)

Roll out fondant 1/8 in. thick and cut circles for buttons using smallest round cut out. Indent centers with dog bone tool from confectionery set; insert wooden skewer to form 2 button holes.

Hope that helps! Good luck

I just roll a ball of fondant. Bigger than a pea and smaller than a whopper depends on what size buttons you want. Then I took a dowel rod and smushed the ball. It flattened out the ball and created the indent/lip of the button then I just took a toothpick and poked four holes in the middle. It was so easy I had my hubbie making buttons for me! icon_smile.gif
