I want to make 3-D Big Bird from fondant. Do I make his body and let dry than his head and let dry add wings and legs. Or do I make every thing and put together as I go? Can you tell this is my first time doing this?

I can use any help that you can give me.

Thank you
Debbie

When I make fondant figures I usually use a lollipop for a base for the head, and then the lollipop stick is support for the figure, trimmed to the right height for what I'm making. I put everything on and let it dry, propped up if necessary. Sometimes it takes a few days to dry all the way through.

There's a Debbie Brown book where she makes Big Bird, but only the top half. http://www.debbiebrownscakes.co.uk/loveable_character_cakes/pages/sesamestreet_jpg_jpg.htm
