How Long Does Fondant Last?

I have some coloured fondant and fondant/gum paste mix which is wrapped in plastic wrap and in a zip lock bag. How long will this last?

Any other suggestions for preserving this stuff for use in the future?

If it's wrapped tight, inside a zip lock bag and inside an airtight container it will last for months.
