I tried this with the cake tops I had left after leveling & my family loved them. I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Place the cake top on a piece of plastic wrap, crust side to the plastic. Spread your choice of cake filling or frosting over the cut side of the cake top. Roll up from the end, jelly roll style, wrap in the plastic wrap and freeze until needed. After you remove it from the freezer, slice like a jelly roll. It makes cute little pinwheels.

Very cool!

I make a 1/2 moon (with the round ones, of course) Add filling, fold in half and slice like a quesadilla.(sp)

I like the jelly roll idea - perfect for unexpected guests.

That's what I usually do but wanted to make them look a little nicer.

i'll have to remember that! usually the family just comes by the counter, grabs the left over cake tops and some icing and is on their way though, maybe i can fix some of these up for them instead, would be a nice surprise for them!
