How does a cake achieve the "popular" status? Is it based on the number of "favorites" it receives? I tried looking all over the sight for an answer to my question, but I couldn't find it. Hoping someone will explain it to me or point me to where I can find the info.

I think it's a combination of views, comments and saves to favorites.

I did notice the new system is not rotating the 'popular' pictures like it used to do so I am not sure if they changed the criteria.

I hope that they will bring back the popular photos, they are a great source of ideas. I think that right now they are making changes so we don't have the finished product yet so I am hopeful that the pix will return.

I think it has more to do with 'saved to favorites' than number of views. I'd like to see the criteria changed as well so that cakes that get viewed a lot but not necessarily put into favs get a little of the spotlight. I think maybe a lot slip through the crack otherwise.

Good question. I wondered myself. I suppose only Heath can answer it.
