Need Baby Shower Cake Ideas.please.

Ok so I have a request for a cake, she said it will be a boy, and the baby's nursery is kinda decorated like a Norman Rockwell painting, she wanted a nostalgic cake, sports theme but like a Norman Rockwell painting, I tried doing the search but got no results help me out here, this cake will be for 200 ppl.

I know I'm still googling! I gotta go to work soon so maybe when I get home tonight I find a bunch of links here on this thread! 
man i have no ideas on that one! most baby cakes are bright colours, that guys are not!
what i actually see is a tiered cake with painting round the side, it the browny colour he seems fond of, i guess it depends if the family are using it. and then figures of children, like plaing with hoops and basketballs, a dog, something like thier house and garden could go on top tier.

how about a 3 tier - red white and blue (Rockwell was very Americana) with the sports image placques or if you can model a base ball glove (old style) and/or ball cap or different sports balls around the tiers with red/white/blue stars coming off the cake on wires. if you can model people maybe a little boy in old fashion like basket ball or baseball uniform on top?

I think this is a great idea, maybe make a 3 tiered gift boxes cake and use those same images as "gift wrapping paper". Have it printed on edible paper and glue it on fondant, or better yet make fondant cut out with the images and glue to the side of the cake after it has harden, then make big pin stripe blue and white bows & ribbons and gum-paste baseballs & bats, and throw in a chocolate baby bottle and a bib for good measure all following the theme of course!
