I was wondering how others go about pricing special occasion cakes, such as shaped, 2 or 3 tiered?
I have standard base rates for my weddings, but seem to quote all over the place for special occasion cakes.
My base (anything leaving my shop) is $30.
Anything 2-tiered or shaped starts at $60 and anything 3-tier $100?
I can't imagine a client getting a 3-tier cake for less than $100 even at wal-mart can any of you?
I would love to start a dialogue of how we all price, it seems to be exploding with people wanting topsy turvy funky birthday cakes that are as much work as weddings, but they don't want to pay wedding price.

Also do you allow for a larger serving of cake for special occasions?
I do.
Any feedback would be great!
