Okay, not a disaster (yet). But I made a recipe found on CC (tastes great) but is very loose. I iced the cake and have it in the fridge to see if it will stiffen up but I may need to scrape it all off and start over. How do I thicken it up without making to overly sweet? The recipe was Gabes Satin Vanilla Buttercream.

Thanks all! Oh - I need HELP ASAP, the cake is for class tomorrow icon_eek.gif

I always use more ps and cornstarch, but it's frosting it's meant to be sweet.

Never tried Cornstarch. Makes sense though. I may have to try that when I dont want it too sweet.

Thanks Solascakes - a little more PS & some cornstarch did the trick. It doesn't help that it's 87 degrees here in central NJ today and I don't even want to guess how hot my kitchen is icon_surprised.gif

Agree with the above ... it's made of sugar, it's suppose to be sweet.

I never noticed that adding more sugar makes it more sweet ... it just makes it more thick.
