First Time Teddy Bear Cake...how Do I Do It?

hi all, i'm new to cake central and I need help! I have to make a teddy bear cake for my daughters 1st birthday (it's a teddy bears picnic party), I have no idea how to go about. I thought I could bake a large round cake, a smaller round cake, two cupcakes for ears, and 4 cupcakes for the paws??? but what do I use to ice it and decorate it?? please help

Your idea is right on icon_smile.gif
You can cover the whole cake using a star tip (about #16) or the 'fur' /'grass' tip #233.
As for how to decorate it.....here are a few pix from the gallery on this site:

If you want an easy way, Wilton makes a bear cake pan, super easy to do. If you check my pics (sorry I don't know how to link) I have the bear sitting in a crib. good luck
