hi all, i'm new to cake central and I need help! I have to make a teddy bear cake for my daughters 1st birthday (it's a teddy bears picnic party), I have no idea how to go about. I thought I could bake a large round cake, a smaller round cake, two cupcakes for ears, and 4 cupcakes for the paws??? but what do I use to ice it and decorate it?? please help
Your idea is right on
You can cover the whole cake using a star tip (about #16) or the 'fur' /'grass' tip #233.
As for how to decorate it.....here are a few pix from the gallery on this site:
If you want to see more go into the gallery then click on 'search' and type in 'teddy bear'. There are at least 100 pages of bear pix!
If you want an easy way, Wilton makes a bear cake pan, super easy to do. If you check my pics (sorry I don't know how to link) I have the bear sitting in a crib. good luck
Your idea is exactly how I would do it.
