Hello, I am new to CakeCentral, but I love it already! My question is regarding fondant...
The first cake I had ever made was this fabulous Elmo Cake (I'll post pictures later.) I used Wilton's fondant to decorate the cake. Unfortunately I was completely unaware of how awful it was going to taste! Is there any good tasting fondant recipes? I am more than willing to make my own as long as it will be well worth it! Thanks a lot!!
Happy Baking!

use anything other than wilton, and it will be so much better! mmf and mff are two popular recipes on here for making it yourself.

I absolutely love the taste of Satin Ice fondant! It works wonderfully on all my cakes too! I agree, the taste of Wilton fondant is awful.

If you are buying your fondant, I say Satin Ice; but if you want to make it, MMF has a great flavor, and I've even made it with the flavored marshmallows which is really fun. icon_smile.gif

I use marshmallow fondant too, the simple recipe (water, marshmallows, powdered sugar). It tastes good to me even when it's unflavored, but sometimes I add Lorann oil flavorings to it. People seem to really love the butter rum flavor, even people who've said in the past that they don't like fondant.

I make an easy semi-homemade white chocolate fondant... it's the bomb!
If you want info, just e-mail me. It tastes really good...

I have to admit that I don't like the taste of Satin Ice. I do however recommend getting Jennifer Dont'z DVDs because her fondant recipe sounds AMAZING.
