I live in Atlanta, and my boyfriend is in NYC. I want to mail him some cupcakes for his birthday (next week), but can't think of an icing that can handle the trip (I don't do shortening). I know ganache is supposed to be okay at room temp, but I'm not sure if it would be okay for an overnight trip.

I ship everything to him via FedEx overnight (we work for the same company, so it's pretty easy for me to get stuff to him at work!). If necessary, I could probably wrap the tupperware in one of those insulated hot/cold bags and keep it in the fridge until 6 or so (our FedEx pickup isn't till 6:30 or 7). He would receive it by 12 or 1 next day.

Anyway, that's probably more info than necessary, but what do yall think? I'd rather not kill my love with bad ganache on his 27th bday!
