I have to do these cupcakes with a black covering and blk mickey ears.I was wondering if there is a smooth black frosting like ganache, but BLACK to put over the cupcakes and isn't nasty...then I will put the ears on top of it. I have to do this weekend, so any help fast would be great....basically a smooth black covering, (NOT CHOC b/c it's brown), but black to put on cupcakes..any ideas please???? Help!

I don't know if this would work for you, but you can cover cupcakes with fondant for a smooth surface. Roll it out and cut circles with a drinking glass or round cutter, then put a little smear of buttercream on the cupcake and then put the fondant circle on. Smooth the edges with your fingers and you have a perfect smooth surface on your cupcake.

Another idea might be to add black coloring to ganache.
