You know I have been looking for cake templates everywhere. I did find a free cake template and a free cupcake template (from the same company). I personally didn't like them...but I can try to find them for you again.

I've also been looking at all of the templates that you can buy and I just haven't found a good cake one at all. It's driving me crazy!

I use www.freewebs.com for my website. I did upgrade from "free" to premium for $4 a month so that I could have more templates. I also purchased a domaine name for $24.00 a year but you don't have to do that.

I use Office Live Small Business. The templates are there for the FREE website, as well as, FREE domain name. Check mine out at www.eleganzacakes.web.officelive.com

There are many templates out there that can be slightly altered to reflect a cake business. I think the easiest ones are those that enable you to change the header image with your own images. PM me if you'd like additional help.

www.vistaprint.com has a $4.99/ month up to $19.98/mo. for unlimitied pages/features. They have several cake templates and it's really easy to use. Free stock photos to upload, you can get matching biz cards, stationary, signage, etc. Not free but worth the fee.

Oh yeah, you get your domian name, and email address that matches your domain name, and you can see the activity. My site has had 64 hits so far this week. I also got the first month free. Check mine out www.countrycakesky.com

I would check through these: http://www.templatemonster.com/category/food-drink/

Granted, they aren't free - but $60 is much better than the $2500 I paid for my custom website - and these look very professional.

I have just published a vistaprint website and believe me it had to be easy for me to do it, I am hopeless at anything to do with computers.
Very easy to follow templates, check it out!
BTW I am very new to this forum, been lurking for some time so please be gentle with me!

You can check out my site. www.distinctivecakes.com
I use Yahoo Small Business for hosting and website design. You can completely design your site from scratch or you can use one of their templates. I pay $12.95 a month and a lot of available space that I haven't even used up yet. It was very easy to use.
I believe Google also has a small business website application.
As your business grows you will surely want to add pictures of your cakes to your site. Besides prices and contact info, I think cake pics are the #1 reason people visit cake sites and will sell you to your clients.

I really like your site. It's not a template, is it?

Template monster has great templates, but if you don't have Adobe Dreamweaver and at least Adobe Elements (Photoshop would be better) you can't edit them. To buy these programs would cost hundreds of dollars (over a thousand if you were to buy Photoshop). My husband has a site through them and he's lucky I can work with the programs and have a basic understanding of HTML code.

There are plenty of free template sites out there. I used FreeWebs for a while before I decided to pay for a site.

Hi Laura102777, thanks for the compliment. It's not a template, I created all the pages on my own. But the Yahoo Site Builder program has templates you can use.
