Can anyone offer experience, tips and/or suggestions for how to decorate using whipped cream?

IE: Can you use fondant covering or accents on whipped cream? Gumpaste? 50/50 mix?

Your thoughts on buttercream flowers on a whipped cream cake?

Does it take to coloring well using Wilton gel colors?

Any advice is welcomed! Thank you!!

I used a whipped cream frosting once. Just putting a tiny bit of color in to make pink and yellow, it did fine, but trying to make purple I had to put blue and red in, the consistency ended up not being right. As far as decorating with it, all I did was 2 dots for eyes and a smile. That did fine, I dont know how it would do for more than that. It seems like it might not hold up to shapes like stars and flowers, but I dont know that for sure. Maybe if you could make it thicker..but I dont know how whipped it would taste with more powdered sugar. I dont see why under fondant it wouldnt taste ok though. HTH
