So, I've been having a couple of problems keeping the top on it. The pin keeps coming out of the side. My husband called kitchen aid and they were very helpful and taught us how to fix it. Recently it's been having the same problem accept now it can't be fixed. Today I was making buttercream on the lowest speed and the top almost fell off and it was super hot! I asked my husband if he could fix it when he came home and he told me it is officially on it's way out. How could this be? I love my KA! I even named it! What am I going to do! (sorry, I just know everyone here loves their KA. I needed someone who would understand)

Thank you guys for your sympathy. I knew someone would understand! It is (was) a he. I hope I"m getting a replacement too. My husband said "I guess we have to buy another one" but I don't exactly know what that meant.

i went to the kitchen aid web site and got a refurbished one. have had it for 4 years now and no problems at all and it was a lot cheaper than a new one. Good Luck Tami
