Does anyone know how to make a standing figure cake? Specifically an Elmo cake...I've only vetured as far as sitting figures, never a standing one.

I'm a little scared because when I watch all these cake deco shows, they've got all these wood-shopped carvings, pipes and framing for their cakes, is that the only way to do it?

I have seen some made with the Wilton 3D bear cake pan, decorated to look like Elmo.
