Oh please help, I have a request for a sheetcake and those just scarry me-- all that empty space to fill! Mom has requested a cake for rollerskating party, the only requests are "fun" and "hot pink and blue rollerskates in the middle" I have asked to see an invitation or paper products for a party in order to asses what "fun" and "hot pink and blue" she had in mind, but they are not available. Has any of you made a girly hot pink sheet cake or have one saved in your favorites? I'm not looking for a roller skating cake, just hot pink and blue and FUN... please post a link, I'm looking for an inspiration cake! I checked the gallery but could not find what I was looking for. Please help!

what about using some music notes & cd fondant cutouts. When I think of rollerskating, i think of music. You can put them randomly around the skates in the middle.

How about adding some hot pink and blue streamers? And if you can make the other stuff above standing up and more 3-D, with the streamers coming out of the cake, I think that would totally rock it!!!

I think you should make it look like a rollerskating rink!!!! that would be really cool!! Maybe make little figures/people skating around the rink/hanging out? Or, instead of ppl, you could just do edible images/color flow/bc transfer of brightly colored skates.

I agree that it should look like a skating rink

Here's a roller skating cake (I know you said your not looking for one but I thought you could perhaps make something similiar for the skates and use hot pink and blue laces. You could also ice the cake itself either pink or blue if you wanted):

Here's some that are pink and blue:

Hot Pink:

I hope these help, I don't think they are exactly what your looking for but I figured it couldn't hurt to post them. icon_smile.gif

THANK you so much you all!!! I can see the colors of this cake now, instead of just hot pink and blue, there will be some yellow and lime, and maybe some orange to. I was planning on doing fondant decorations originally, but mom said "no fondant, of any kind," so it will be totally buttercream, but I have an idea in my head now thanks to you all!!!! Thanks again, that's exactly what I needed -ideas to make my head work! Hopefully the cake will turn out the way I imagine it, even though my cakes rarely do! Thanks again to all of you for your time and kindness, cannot wait to start now!

I like using this ruffle border when doing girly cakes.
