I don't think it is widely available in stores. I have been unable to find it in my area and had to order it on-line. You might do a Google search on Sweetex and see what comes up.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
P.S. I bought mine to make SugarShack's icing and haven't had an opportunity to try it. I can't wait!

I just bought 50lbs for $92 plus shipping.
Jennifer! I live in Michigan also, but have only been able to find Sweetex at my local cake decorating store. Kind of pricey so I am always looking for better alternatives. I live downriver, just south of Detroit. Which GFS carries this? I have two nearby but haven't seen it. Maybe I'm not looking good enough. TIA>

I live in the Chicago area and I contacted GFS and they told me they had to order it for me. They have it listed as cake shortening.
TY, tyty. (lol, sorry, I had to say it like that, love your name!) You've been most helpful.
Yes, It can be frozen. I measure it out according to my recipe (single, double, triple, batch) and then put it in a freezer ziplock bag. (I usually put 4 cups in a gallon bag) I flatten it out and get as much air out of the bag. Then I wrap each bag with foil and stack them on a shelf in my dedicated freezer. It is ready to go when I am. I like to buy the 50lb cube. I've had trouble in the past with it having a funky smell, if I bought it in smaller quantities that had been repackaged by the supplier.
I got some from fondantsource for 79.99 ... and shipping was under $40.00. I couldn't beat that anywhere else.
