So I've tried a few recipes and still haven't found a great cake. I tried the WASC loved it but want something besides that.. Most I have tried besides the WASC are just too crumbly. Looking for a white/yellow cake that are okay being handled Just curious what was everyone's go to cake
Here is a really good recipe for a yellow cake from Serious_cakes. When I make it, my eggs don't end up making it too yellow! You can make variations with this recipe quite easily too.

HTH.
I just made Serious_Cakes yellow cake and it tastes kind of like a cross between corn bread and pound cake.. wasn't bad but wasn't what I expected.

That's weird isn't it! Oh well, I'll have to admit, for ease, I just use the WASC these days in various flavors
mine always just come out moist, though when i feel like it, il add some simple syrup which helps make it more moist.
maybe you overbaked, or mis-measured?
xx
I use Toba Garrett's Moist Yellow Cake...

And Collette Peter's White cake...the variation with almond extract and almond paste creamed in with the butter. I'm not at home and can't find it on the web, but if you have her book, it's there.
