Help....piping Gel 'mass'

Hi everyone,
I made the piping gel recipe I found on this site. I was to put 2 tablespoons of gelatin in a small pot over 2 tablespoons of water. I did that and allowed it to sit 5 min. as was instructed. I was then to put it on the stove, heating through until gelatin mixture turned clear.. I stirred it for almost 20 minutes and it still was white and foamy. So, I thought I must have misread the recipe. The instructions were printed as follows: "Put over low heat and stir until mixture becomes clear/disolved, do not boil, then add the four cups of corn syrup" . So I thought . well it's not clear,but it has dissolved ...so I tried to mix it in. Ohhh, what a mess icon_cry.gif , white globs all through my gel and it was awful to look at. I hope someone can tell me what might have happened ? Thanks , Necey
