Help!!! - Icing Problem

I am making 150 cupcakes next week for a wedding shower. I'm putting a sunflower on each one with crisco + poweder sugar + milk icing. Can they be made ahead of time and should I leave them out or freeze them? I don't want them to be hard!

I would make the cupcakes and freeze undecorated. Cupcakes only taste fresh for a few days so I wouldn't leave them out. Make the flowers ahead of time, that type of decoration with crisco does not have to be refrigerated. Take cupcakes out of freezer day before and decorate. they will be fine. good luck

Maybe you can do each flower on a square of wax paper, then place in a long, under the bed type, rubbermaid container so they will be covered. I'm guessing they will crust as normal, but still be soft when bitten into.
