i made some flowers out of 50-50 gumpaste and fondant, colored reddish orange, let dry hard. they looked dull and not quite the vivid color that was requested, so i painted them with a mixture of gel color and clear vanilla last night. they are still so sticky i cant pick them up. i need them by tomorrow to put on a cake. is there any way to quick dry them? is there something else i should have painted them with so they would dry faster?
i live in so calif, its 80 degrees today and not humid, so i dont know what the problem is.

If you have a small space heater place the flowers a few feet in front of this on a low setting.

In the future use petal dusts to enhance the color and then pass them very briefly through steam. Steam them just long enough for them to shine, don't touch them until they are dry. If you want the flowers to stay shiny then dust them with luster dust before steaming.

I'm sorry this is probably too late to help. Best of luck to you.

Michele
