Thank you all for your answers thumbs_up.gif

I was doing my fist cake puse this weekend( going to do it in buttercream) and had bought it (fondant)
to do the handles and buckles etc. Scared to try to make my own.

Also how long do you let it dry, before putting it on the cake?

Thank you all for your answers, you have helped me alot.

I assume that you are wanting the handle of the purse to stand up and if that's the case I suggest you let the fondant dry at least an entire day so it will hold the shape. When I do fondant into a shape it takes about that long to dry but of course I always have to do thick pieces for things like the grill on football helmets and wheels for skateboards ect....because I always get asked to do the harder type cakes. If you are doing thinner pieces maybe they won't take that long to dry.
