I am making a gumpaste monogram for the top of a cake and I am wondering how to add edible glitter? Do you add it to the gumpaste before you roll it out, or is it something you put on after the monogram is made?
THanks for your help!

I usually put it on after it is made. I airbrush it with either the same color as the gumpaste or a pearl finish and the glitter the HELL out of it! lol If you just want it a little sparkly and not glitter encrusted, then you can just brush it on and it'll stick enough to give it a little glitz.

If you want to really encrust it you can use thinned out gum glue (dissolve gumpaste in water or add some CMC tylose to water and let sit overnight) painted on in a VERY thin coat and sprinkled with the glitter.
