How do I amke it soft again or do I just toss it?

I was thinking I could use them to practice with. Not on anything I would serve.

It depends how hard it is. Crisco will soften it a bit..

Hard like how hard? Like dried? Add water. Just stiff? Pop it in microwave for few seconds....

This stuff is rock hard. It is left over scraps I have accumilated from cakes I did. I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away thinking i would use it to practice with. Now that I have the extra time it is rock hard.

I say throw it if it's rock hard, even for playing will make your life impossible.

In class we took the hard fondant and broke it up by blending it in a food processor. Then put it in a mixer and "revived" it by adding I think glucose. You can try it!
