I want to try making gumpaste roses. I've watched a couple of online videos, and I think I have a decent grasp on what to do. I just don't know what cutters to buy.

Any suggestions?

What's your favorite brand? Favorite size or sizes?

Any helpful hints about what supplies to buy?

Thanks, y'all!

I've just finished making about 50 gum paste roses using the 5 petal cutter. It worked quite well for large, med and rose buds. I just bought the Wilton cutters that included one for the calyx too.

I really like the 'all-in-one' cutter. It comes in different sizes.
For gp I use Nic Lodge's recipe........super easy to make and work with. Requires Tylose.

I have rose petal cutters, and recently tried just using a round cutter after watching ednas video on youtube. For me, using the round cutter was alot easier and the roses turned out good. I have seen a video using the 5 petal cutter so that will be my next practice!

Sherri, thank you SOOOOO much for the link to that thread. Your tutorial on making roses was great, but the best part for me was the page where you had pictures of your cutters and the roses you made from them. THEN, you listed which calyx cutters match up with with sizes of rose cutters.

You are so helpful!!! thumbs_up.gif

Now, I'm off to order some cutters. icon_biggrin.gif
