Any ideas on cake design that could incorporate both a safari theme and balls/sports balls? Only thing that pops into my head is a tier cake with 1 as balls and 1 as jungle... but am at a loss in trying to blend the 2 themes. Thank you in advance!

The two tiers, each with a different theme is good. But you could also do safari animals playing ball. They would wear sport jerseys, passing a ball around. Or a play on 'rumble in the jungle'. Another is a set of sports balls with safari animals sitting/climbing on them. Here's one of my favorites sports ball cakes...
