I have to make an Elmo cake for this weekend and I am having so much trouble getting the deep red color. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

I'm doing an Elmo cake this weekend too! I used the wilton no taste red, and it was a great color. I have also used the americolor red for another Elmo cake I did, and that red came out great too. The color will deepen in about an hour, so even if it doesn't look as red as you want, once it deepens and then you used it and it crusts, it's pretty red.

Oh thank goodness. Because right now it looks like a very faded red. I used the no taste red (Wilton) and the americolor red. I felt like I used an awful lot of coloring. I'll check on it in a little bit to see if it's any darker. Thanks.
