I just made two batches of gumpaste and they are already much harder than any other batch I've made. I know they'll soften as they rest but what else can I do to soften them up? Crisco? More glucose? I haven't even added the last cup of powdered sugar. icon_sad.gif

Egg white. There is a delicate balance between Crisco & egg white. Don't want too much Crisco.

I used Wilton's recipe (Gum Tex and Glucose w/PS). Will the egg whites still work or is there another solution? If egg whites will work best, I assume I just add them a little bit at a time?

When it's already mixed, I pop it in the microwave for just a small amount of time to soften it. Works great! But if you leave it in too long it explodes...hehe 0=-)
