I got my first real wedding cake request and I'm trying to figure out how to estimate the price. There will be 60 guests and the bride hasn't decided on any special decorations yet so I'm not factoring that into the estimate right now. Do you think that $7 a serving is a reasonable price (I'm in the NY metro area)? I am planning on making a 3 tiered cake. Am I supposed to charge for the top tier even though it will be saved? I'm also thinking of charging a $65 delivery charge as the venue is about 30-45 minutes away.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!

Prices vary so much region to region. You need to see what others in your area with a comparable product are charging.

Thanks...I checked a few other custom cake decorators and they all charge $10 per serving plus additional fees for special decorations (flowers, figurines) and delivery. However, the price varies between $3.50-$7 for different bakeries throughout the area.
