Has anyone got some tips/advice on how to go about decorating Elmo cupcakes? I am leaning towards making some for my daughter's birthday. Thanks!

How about doing frozen buttercream transfer or chocolate transfer. Take a pic of elmo and cover with plastic wrap or acetate. Outline the pic in butercream and then freeze. Then take out of the freezer and fill in. Do your details first as the bottom (touching the plastic wrap) will end up being the top of your elmo. Fill in the background color and refreeze. Frost your cupcakes then peel your elmo's off the plastic wrap and place on cupcake! You can do the same with chocolate melts without freezing. Good luck and post some pics when they're done! icon_smile.gif

If you google Elmo cupcakes a couple of pictures come up. I have seen them before and they were pretty cute.

I would suggest you use grass tip for fur and orange jelly beans for nose.

I've done the star tip for fur, but I've also just done a swirl with tip 2d. IMO, it's enough work to pipe on the nose and eyes and mouth... Save yourself the trouble and just do the red swirl icon_smile.gif

Thanks for this. I had looked at some of the photos but didn't have a great sense of what to do for the mouth.

LOL. There are so many elmo's there! They just kind of blend together! Looks like he's a popular character!
