How Can I Make Fondant With Dark Colors?

Hi,
Im trying make fondant with dark colors but the fondant dont hold well.
How can I get a good brown...deep blue..or black fondant?
Do I need mix the gel color on the beginning?
Someone can help me......please??

Dark colours (especially black and red) are much harder to make, not impossible but definitely harder. Most folks just by these colours premade (ie SatinIce).

If you make your own fondant for brown or black start by using cocoa powder to get it to be brown (you can darken this as needed).
Also if your making your own fondant and are planing on only having the one colour for the whole batch add your gel food colouring to the liquid before you add the liquid to the mixture.
